It's such a pleasure to have John Gray with us.

00:03
20 years ago he wrote Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus,

00:07
a book that resonated and was like the top-selling book in the 1990s.

00:12
He joins us now 20 years later, and he continues to talk about Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus,

00:18
but he's really focusing now on this concept of hormonal balance and the difference between hormones in men and women.

00:23
Can you talk a little about this book, Venus on Fire and Mars on Ice?

00:27
Well, 20 years later, men and women are still the same, but our roles are different.

00:30
And as women are more in the workplace, as our life is speeding up, it affects women differently than men.

00:35
For women, it causes their stress levels to be twice as high, and at home, their stress levels are four times higher.

00:41
Wow.

00:41
And this is major.

00:42
And so I said, why?

00:43
And so I went into the investigation, and there's now new science that shows that our hormones are significantly different.

00:49
And the hormone that lowers stress for women is called oxytocin.

00:53
And women today don't have enough time to generate oxytocin.

00:57
So I teach women the ways to generate oxytocin to lower their stress levels.

01:01
Give me like a hint of something.

01:03
Is it something you would take or something you do?

01:04
No, it's not something you take.

01:05
It's all about behaviors that you can do to balance your hormones rather than take hormones.

01:10
More and more research is showing that women who take hormones get cancer, have all kinds of problems.

01:14
Men who take hormones, taking testosterone hormones, causing prostate cancer.

01:18
So I'm not in that direction.

01:20
I'm in the direction of natural.

01:21
What can I do?

01:22
So when a woman chooses to create some time where she's not in a hurry to do something she loves to do,

01:28
which also has to do with nurturing, like going shopping or getting her nails done, getting her hair done, getting a massage,

01:35
these are all things that are proven to increase this hormone oxytocin.

01:39
In previous generations, women didn't need it so much because women were not in a hurry.

01:43
Our life was slower.

01:45
The key oxytocin producer is feeling you have enough time.

01:48
That's why women love cruises.

01:50
That's why going on a little vacation.

01:51
That's what a special date is about.

01:53
Men don't realize to plan a date in advance that women can look forward to that time

01:58
where she doesn't have to take care of other people.

02:00
It builds up her oxytocin and lowers her stress.

02:03
What about men?

02:04
Well, our hormonal imbalance tends to be because there's so many what's called xenoestrogens in our environment,

02:10
hormones in our food that they add to the meat, they add to the chicken to fatten them up.

02:15
Those hormones are female hormones and they're fat storing hormones.

02:18
They get into our male body and they lower our testosterone.

02:22
So your average 50 year old man has half the testosterone that men used to have.

02:26
Wow.

02:26
This is shocking.

02:27
This is shocking stuff.

02:28
So is that part of the issue on fertility as well?

02:31
Yes, it's also on fertility.

02:32
It's also for men's libido, for men's energy, for men's focus, for men's drive.

02:36
Everything to do with health has to do with testosterone for men.

02:39
I give up then.

02:40
Is there any hope?

02:41
Well, there's good herbs that you can take to counteract the estrogens in our environment.

02:47
And these herbs have been around and they're very, very safe and basically some of the

02:51
health food stores carry them.

02:52
I also carry them on my website.

02:54
My favorite is Tongkat Ali from Bangkok.

02:57
And this is used for thousands of years.

02:58
Can I spell what please?

02:59
T-O-N-G-K-A-T, Tongkat Ali.

03:02
If you just look at testosterone booster at marsvenus.com, men love it.

03:06
They keep ordering it and you don't have to do it for too long.

03:08
You just want to kick them back up.

03:10
My testosterone are higher than they were when I was in my 30s as a result and it keeps

03:14
me feeling energized.

03:15
Thank you.

03:16
is called Venus on Fire, Mars on Ice. Yesterday he appeared at the Whole Life Expo. That's still

03:23
going on over at the Concord's Exhibition Center. Thank you so much for coming. Boy,

03:28
we should have you on every week. Great information. It was nice seeing you. Marty, back to you.

03:32
That's fantastic. Thank you so much.
