Henry Tenenbaum Archive — Editorial Guide

This document describes how records in the Henry Tenenbaum Archive are created, structured, versioned, and maintained.

Record Creation Process

Step 1: Source Identification

Records are created from original source materials: broadcast tapes (digitized to MP4), transcripts (generated via MacWhisper speech-to-text), newspaper clippings, station archives, and online discoveries (YouTube, Texas Archive of the Moving Image, etc.).

Step 2: Transcript Analysis (V1)

The transcript is analyzed to extract: story identification (title, date, program, station, duration), content summary, structured metadata (people, organizations, locations, subjects, themes), notable quotes, and production notes. This creates a V1 record.

Step 3: Video Review (V2 Upgrade)

When video is available, the record is upgraded to V2 with: visual descriptions (wardrobe, settings, graphics), timestamped story structure, Henry's on-screen participation details, signature moments, and confirmed production credits.

Naming Conventions

HTA IDs are assigned sequentially: HTA-0001 through HTA-0574 (current). The numbering reflects processing order, not chronological order. Records are grouped by era/station for browsing purposes.
